Am looking for somewhere that has a pool, not bothered about any entertainment as such. Would be nice if there were cycle paths near by too and a few places locally to visit. Dc are 10 and 7 and are pretty much happy to see/do anything.

Anywhere in uk (but pref not Wales.....we love Wales but been there for last 3 years!)

Well centre parks fits the bill. If you go to the one opposite longleat you can have a day there and still get back in time for a swim

Thanks but I don't think it's what we're after I just imagine a pool packed full of screaming toddlers. Apologies if it's not like that!

we liked kelling heath in Norfolk - although we camped there so don't know what lodges were like.

We have a holiday park - PointSands in Kintyre with just 2 brand new, luxury hire caravans (similar to lodges) all other vans are privately owned. Who needs a pool when you have a fab private beach 10 steps from the door! Lots to do in Kintyre and beautiful too. Wonderful cycling on the island of Gigha opposite us, fab sunsets too.

Why not look at a cottage complex with an indoor pool, games room etc. We have stayed twice in Devon at robinhillfarmcottages.co.uk.. It's lovely.
Similar complexes can be found at www.premiercottages.co.uk.
These complexes provide the facilities without the crowds!!Smile

What about here?

We stayed in a self catering cottage near this place, but went and had a nosy. It looked nice.

Well Mymumstillreadsmymail if you leave at 9pm (kids sleep in the car) you'll be here by 9am for one of my infamous Scottish breakfasts!!! (Even though I'm English!!) I promise you won't be disappointed! Wink

Warmwell in Dorset is a nice place. Woodland park with 3 lakes & a dry ski slope. There is a pool with wave machine in the complex. It's about 20 mins from Weymouth. Loads to see & do close by.
I have stayed at one of the park-owned lodges which are nice but last year booked privately & stayed here:
www.warmwelllodge.co.uk/Pages/aboutus.aspx
It was fantastic!

I have also stayed in Lodges at Hoburne Naish which are lovely too. You are then very close to the New Forest which offers great cycling opportunities.
