Thinking about summer 2013 already! Its the first year we will have to holiday in the summer hols and we are thinking of Pembrokeshire. Usually we are Devon & Cornwall stalwarts but have never been in the six weeks and are wondering if Pembrokeshire will be quieter. I've done some research and have some basic knowledge of the areas geography but some real local knowledge would be a great help. The kind of place we'd like to stay is a village, with a beach, and some facilities eg a pub, shop. Any recommendations of somewhere fitting the bill in Pembrokeshire?

I recommend Newport, very relaxed, beautiful beach and river, nice places to eat i.e The Golden Lion pub or Lou Lous, nice walks up Carningli mountain etc..and not as manic as Tenby or other places down South of the county.

I would highly recommend Pembrokeshire as it is far less busy than Devon and Cornwall lots of wonderful sandy beaches in the South. there is one small perfectly formed 99%lived in village on the Coast with its own beach ,castle ,cafe , AA4*star resturant and shop. There are a couple of self catering cottages and B and Bs. ten minutes from Tenby and it is called Manorbier. So it is worth investigating this as a holiday option. If you need any further options or information on Pembrokeshireget in contact.

Try under the thatch - if you google it, the web address will come up. Lovely holiday cottages, we stayed in one in Pembrokeshire and it was beautiful

Freshwater East. Clean beach with loos, pub at top of hill, garage/ shop a short walk away in Lamphey, and about 2 miles from Pembroke.
