Ride on Track-based trains?

Hi all, just looking for some advice/reviews on ride-on-track-based-trains - My son is going to be 2 in August and is average size for his age - we have adequate space for the tracks (as I've heard that can be an issue) and we would like to know what you would reccommend?

Peg perego ride on Thomas is fab. Friends ds has one and they've had a lot of use out of it...my ds loves it but unfortunately we don't have room for one. Not sure if they still sell them new, but I've seen some on eBay
