Can anyone offer a rational explanation ?

At the weekend Dh told me that he had just had ‘ a senior moment ‘ . Apparently he had washed his hands in the bathroom and then walked out leaving the tap running . Adult ds had realised when he heard the water running and at first thought someone was having a bath .
A very very unusual thing for my meticulous dh to have done but thought no more about it .
I have just been in the bathroom and with my back to the sink ( I was wiping my eye with a towel hung on the back of the door ) the tap turned itself on . I defo hadn’t been near it . Ds doesn’t believe me and is up there now messing with the tap , flushing the toilet etc
What happened ? Is there a spirit telling me to wash my hands lol Or do I need new taps ?

Think we need a plumber OP. Did the tap handle move or did tap come on in the off position?

The handle had moved it was up so I had to turn it off . I said water pressure to ds which is why he’s been turning other taps on and flushing the toilet etc . Can’t get it to happen again ,neither of us have a clue about plumbing though .
