Keep horse in after worming?

Horse been on livery for several years, now at home so I’m learning fast! I’ve read they should stay in for 48hours after worming. The main reason seems to be to stop the chemicals getting into waterways etc..
Our muckheap is at the far end of the paddock and will be collected by a local farmer. So even if they are in, the contaminated manure will still end up essentially in the paddock, and then spread over fields.
So does it make a difference whether I keep him in or turn out after worming? Am I missing something obvious here?!

Mine go out regardless. I poo pick every day. Never been an issue

I think a major reason horses get worms repeatedly is that they are wormed and then put back on pasture full of worms and cycle starts again. I do keep in but more like 24 hours and agree that if pasture clear of poop not a problem to turn out straight away, poo picking is a very important part of staying worm free, worm count tests help also

Thanks for replies, yes poo pick as often as possible and faecal egg counts regularly so hopefully ok to turn out.
