Riding 'taster' for dd

DD1 is 6 and has suddenly got into ponies and horses. I have no idea where its come from as she's never been around horses or anything.
I looked into some lessons at the local riding stables but they are £££ and we can't afford them so i was thinking about getting her some sort of 'horse riding experience' for her birthday.
Do these exist and if yes are there any you would recommend? (bearing in mind she will be 7 and never been near a horse) Thanks

Put ads up in local tack shops. Ask for someone to help. Speak to anyone you know with little ponies. They may not be able to help, but may know someone else. You never know what might crop up. I have a gorgeous 6yo coming to ride my Shetland, his mum posted pretty much the same as you, here in the tack room. They pay a small donation to the ponies keep, and once they were established, I asked that they get their own public liability insurance, but that isn't mega expensive.

a lot of riding schools will do a short lead rein session that is cheaper than lessons

be warned though - i was a horse mad child and my parents bought me a lesson for a gift on my birthday one year and i never stopped
