Congratulations! I'm debating my sanity after buying a second pony.So far she has tried to buck DD2 off, tried to roll with her on board, and today I got to the yard to find the gate shut, but she and dpony in each others paddocks.Confused

After a lesson in which she and dpony tried to kick the proverbial out of each other,we put them back in their separate paddocks, only to watch B open the gate and stroll into dpony's paddock. After a bit of squealing and facepulling, they settled down, and I left them to sort themselves out.

Because when you have had the sh*ttiest day ever, with whingeing DCs and grumbling DHs, you can soak up the peace and tranquility of your dhorse eating it's hay in it's lovely warm stable without a care in the world, just being in the moment. That's what I get from my dhorse - she expects nothing from me (except nudging for the odd treat Grin). I can chose to ride her or I can just groom her/be with her - I actually get withdrawal symptoms if I haven't see her for a couple of days (on full livery).

Would love to DIY but DH doesn't want me put under that pressure and the DCs have no interest whatsoever in horses so it's not relaxing if I have to take them with me.

I am at a lovely livery yards where the majority of the liveries are ladies of a certain age who have gone back to horses when the DCs have started school and have more time. We all get on well, hack together and put the world to rights Grin.

Enjoy your new horse!!!!!

Mine is a hairy native of dubious breeding Hmm, will never set the world alight but she is the most gentle, calm creature which is just what I needed with 4ds, 2 with ASD. Even my back lady said she had a wonderful, lovely spirit (she believes horses are spiritual beings) and I truly believe the pony found me.

As a birthday present, my DH is paying for sidesaddle lessons which will be about as adventurous as I will get !

mine is a cob v unschoold but gentle as well as prone to running home!!!- i talk to her and scratch her and hum to her and im sure she listens to me quite happily.im not sure why this feels different to having a dog as i have a dog i love to bits.I would not argue that horses are spirtual beings - i remember my much loved borrowed cob when i was little i trulyloved him and i have read that horses can be seen as healers.you sound happy and it is heartwarming to hear bout the two of you !!.

I love all of our horses, but I especially adore my lovely little cob/native because she's mine and she's just fantastic and has given me back my riding confidence. I'm about to go out for a lovely long ride with DH. We'll get home relaxed and happy rather than work stressed, and drink cheap wine and eat cheap food because the horses have spent all the money again.Grin
