When can I expect to stop hurting?!

Having been a novice for many, many years I've just started riding lessons. I'm absolutely loving it, feeling more confident already but the pain...jeez! I was warned I would ache a little the day after and a lot 2 days after. First two lessons weren't too bad, did a full half hour & started trotting on Thursday. Yesterday (2 days after) I could barely walk & still bad this morning. I'm also covered in bruises!

Will it get better?

Haha I'm the same! Had a private lesson on Thursday for an hour, my first proper lesson in about 15 years, and I'm still aching all over now! I went from having done the occasional slow hack a couple of times a year to having an hour where she'd got me jumping a course of 5 90cm jumps at a nice collected canter and I was shaking all the way driving home. Woke up this morning and my thighs and shoulders are still sore! No pain, no gain and all that!! At least that's what I'm telling myself lol

Glad I'm not the only one! My mum has this lovely gelding who is steady as a rock but lazy so I spend a lot of time kicking him on. He's great though, riding teacher really good and great at building confidence. Was thinking it would be weeks before I was trotting or really working and here I am.

I have visions of being the next Mary King. Ha!
