jodhpurs for DS

DS has now started riding as well (oh, the £££!!). DD was easy to kit out as she's female like me. But does DS need jodhpurs too or do boys/men wear something different or do i need to buy boys jodhpurs rather than just any old jodhpurs? DS is 10.

TIA

There's not that much difference at that age. I bought ds some navy jods with a little shield badge and piping on them in a tack shop last year (he's 11 now) because they weren't too expensive and they fitted. It was only later when I saw them advertised in a magazine that I realised they were supposedly girls ones, at least they were being modelled by girls. In the catalogues they are usually 'junior' jods rather than specifying a gender although I have seen ones with camouflage patterns designed to appeal more to boys.

My ds wears whichever jods he fancies from the tack shop tbh. But Shires do do boys jods if he specifically wants some

Whatever you can find at sales or on eBay!

I got a nice pair of black ones at Hickstead. They will be too big until next year but they were only a fiver!

All ours come from car boot sales, ebay or hand me downs. My best bargain was a pair of new looking canary Caldene jods for 50p at a car boot.

The only new jods we've ever had were a birthday present.

Got DS's from Sainsburys. I think they were about 18 quid.

We have many many nice horse things, none of which were bought new. Everything came from eBay, auctions or the local bi annual eq. Boot sale. Dponies saddle is a Stubben Seigfreid. It cost my friend £40. Dds show jacket, £4, moss green, hardly worn. Her boots, £5 brand new. Show rug, masts boa fleece, looks like sheepskin, £20 new. Our trailer was a bargain. Bought it for £100, sold a pony, put the profits into a refurb, £300. even our ponies were discounts! New forest came from the roundup. Welsh A was a gift, (allegedly but never noticed as chronic lame) ride and drive Shetland, £150. You really don't need to buy new stuff. (except riding hat).
