Surely the only logical answer is that schools should shut?

Let me start by saying I completely understand why schools should remain open. I don't want them to close either. However. If we are being "guided by the science", then surely the obvious thing to do to reduce infection rates is to close secondary schools? Seeing as secondary pupils are the only demographic where infection rates are increasing, and very few of them do not share a household with an adult? I can't help but feel that secondary staff are being put at risk and forgottenSad

I've just checked gov.uk and there is no mention of this whatsoever. Do you have a source to back this up?

The world would have to be on fire before schools closed again!

The government specifically said this week that schools should not do rotas whatever tier they are in. I am not giving a view on whether that was right merely repeating an article I read somewhere, maybe on TES Twitter.

Not what you meant, I know, but after 8 months of this pandemic I almost long for our biggest problem to be the raging wildfires and global warming again...
