I like his points about gaslighting. That private sector workers have been gaslit into blaming public sector workers for the erosion of their rights.

I like what he was, I think, alluding to about there being a moral element to public service. I think it’s perhaps that element that threatens government and the workers will do what we tell them to ideas of a purely economically driven elite.

They’ve had to undermine us because otherwise we could say this is bad for children and be believed or this puts patients lives in danger and be believed or these police cuts will mean we cannot keep people safe and be believed.

If we were trusted as moral voices with larger ethics than money grabbing it would undermine the government and threaten resistance to slashing public services.
