Went for a tour round a local primary school this afternoon. Currently working out of area and like the look of a job nearer to home and also would be a step up to SLT.
Read online that the best thing to do was to try and absorb information and keep questions to a minimum, especially if they have a useful website, which this school does. But having come away I feel like i didn't give much of an impression of myself really, especially in terms of being capable of leadership.
I had some pre prepared questions which i asked, but the rest of the time i just felt like i was just saying hello to staff and saying "oh, right yes, that looks lovely etc."
What do people really look for on these visits? Should i have talked more about myself etc??
