I'm a TA and have I've been asked to cover our class when my teacher is striking next week.
I'm not worried about being in charge of the class but feel a little uncomfortable in covering under these circumstances and wonder what the protocol is in this situation please?

I would absolutely not do this, especially as you are a TA and not usually a cover supervisor. I wouldn't do this as a cover supervisor/HLTA either actually.

Thank you, confirms what I was feeling that it wasn't a good idea.

if you don't feel comfortable teaching the class then you need to speak to your manager and state this. it's up to them to arrange cover,
