Supplementing income as a teacher as a precursor to leaving

Hi, I just wondered if anyone had any ideas on this... I am looking to leave teaching in the next few years but live in a small, fairly isolated town where there aren't many opportunities.. We are committed to this areas as my kids are happy in school and my husband has a good job here. Consequently, I am trying to think about an exit plan and a way to build up experience in a new direction. I have enjoyed submitting resources to teaching websites and am interested in textbook writing. I am also interested in freelance writing / publishing but I realise that these are very competitive and there are no real opportunities where I live. I have been looking at different websites for ideas but am not sure which is the best place to start. I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation and found a way to start? Thanks :)

I'll be following this with interest...

Have you seen the thread in chat(?) called something like 'if you earn £200-£2000 per month, what do you do?'
