Tooth problem

I’m ready to make a complete tit of myself. Do cats have baby teeth? The internet seems to say so.

We have a 4 month old kitty whose front incisor (?) is sideways. My daughter is besides herself as she thinks she saw some blood around it and worries the cat is in pain. We’ve emailed a photo through to the vet but they haven’t got back to us.

So could this be a milk tooth 🦷 and do they just fall off?

Has one of its baby teeth fallen out so what you are seeing is a new tooth coming through? If you upload a pic here someone might be able to see

Seems to be a baby canine. Every day’s a school day.

How on earth did you manage to get him to let you do that?!!

I see what you mean. I guess if it’s slightly wobbly it could be the baby tooth on it’s way out?
I’ve just wrestled my, slightly bemused, cats lips open.
Also black, equally cute but we adopted at 9 months old so came with adult teeth.
I hope someone will come along soon that can advise & put your mind at rest.

Yes they do have baby teeth, when my kitten was teething I'd find pointy little teeth on the carpet, they were adorable. I kept all the baby teeth I could find as mementos and still have them after he is long gone Smile

Thank you! I’m embarrassed to say I’d never heard of this before and when my daughter phoned me to say she thinks the kitten is teething and in pain I thought she was being ridiculous. Then she showed me the tooth and I phoned the vet. They’ve probably haven’t stopped laughing 😂 The cat seems quite ok and it’s a massive relief I don’t have to fork out on her teeth, having just finished paying for mine.
