The litter tray

Can you gender my cats please?

I thought I had brought two boy kittens (a few days before lockdown and as we’re shielding we haven’t got around to the vets yet).

My DP is now wondering if one is actually female.

Could anyone put our minds to rest and potentially sex our little beauties?

Thanks in advance.

@slippery

Thanks for the link. I just struggle to identify 100% - if we’ve got a male/female we’ll need to get them neutered ASAP (currently going to be house cats until they’ve got all their jabs/much bigger).

Gender can’t by assigned according to physical traits. Have you tried asking them what their preferred pronouns are?

Can you email the pic to the vets?

Both look male to me, are they maine coon?

Both look male to me (vet nurse), would be easier to tell from a photo taken standing with tail lifted though.

From the pics, you can see their balls!

Why did you think one was maybe female instead op?

BlueGheko · 26/04/2020 12:57

Incidentally ginger kitties are almost always male!

Male.

Doublecheck with the arse test.

Both boys 👍

@Reginabambina - surely that should be purr-fered pronouns?

Report
MitziK · 26/04/2020 13:47

Surely the preferred (or pre-furred) pronouns happen organically?

'That Fucking Furry Wee Shite' and 'The Bastarding Twat over there' spring to mind for some reason.

@MitziK - ours think they're deities thanks to

'Jesus, Cat!'
'Christ Almighty, you little tool'
'Gods sake you furry arsehole'

Here is an article from the Washington Post written by a woman who is 'raising her cats gender neutral'.

lol- enjoy!

Fucking hell, @PurrBox.

That's the most tortuous, have-to-write-500-words-on-this-subject-by-9pm writing I've encountered for a long time.

Take a picture from the back with tail raised.

Look like boys to me. Kitten fosterer although I've been known to get it wrong. Gingers are usually male. Torties are always female.
