What do I do?

My vets is working on a emergency basis only.

It's not my cat

The chip is not registered to me

Owners don't want anything to do with it.

Just phone the vets. A duty vet will speak to you and you can discuss symptoms & your concerns. They will be able to advise you if they need to see the cat tonight or at an appointment tomorrow or give you advice. Respiratory issues can be emergency. Just call and see what they say.

RSPCA if there is proof the cat is registered to them - withholding treatment is animal cruelty

Are you looking after the cat? I would get them to transfer ownership

Yes I have the cat, they are currently asleep in my hallway making the most of the underfloor heating.

How sad and not very old either. At least you took care of her at the end unlike her "owners".

That's very sad. But at least she enjoyed your underfloor hearing and was cared for.
