I grew up with a blind cat she managed fine but she lost her sight gradually while we had her rather suddenly or going into a new home blind ,
Was yours born blind ? or how old was s/he went s/he went blind ?
I think if there were born blind or have been for a while with care and very slow intros new puss should settle in fine

I've had a number of cats (at least three - I lose track) that have gone blind at a fairly advanced age. All lived with many, many other cats and with a not particularly organised owner (ie me) who tends to leave random objects scattered around the place. All adapted brilliantly within around two weeks - so much so that you would hardly know they couldn't see. The only problem was that one was still able to find her way out of the cat flap into the garden but then couldn't find her way back in. But even that wasn't too problematic. I just had to look out for her. So yes, go for it.

Thanks for the advice. He is an old stray that was taken into my vets yesterday. I'm waiting to hear back from them now x

That's a lovely thing to do. Good luck.

I think it's a great idea. Well done you, good luck!

Sounds good, you'll just have to be careful to avoid him escaping if you're not used to having indoor cats (a microchip catflap would be good, and you won't be able to leave your windows wide open or the back door open in the summer).

*NOT escaping, obviously.

My friends cat is blind, he goes on their balcony (well fenced and secure)
They had a bit of a shock when they found him standing over a pigeon he had killed looking very proud of himself GrinBlush he copes really well
