First time posting on this board.

I love my cat. We’ve had him for 4 years. He’s a rescue. I’ve always had cats growing up.

First baby arrived in September and is 5 months old. Cat has been great around her. But I feel so incredibly guilty as I don’t give him as much attention anymore. He’s a proper lap cat and loves attention. As soon as I don’t have the baby in my arms he comes looking for a cuddle and I most of the time I end up pushing him away as I feel so Touched Out by the baby. It’s not just the cat that’s not getting much of my attention at the moment... neither is my husband!

I feel so incredibly guilty but at the same time I can’t help how I feel. I just want some time where my body is my own.

I love him so much. What can I do? sad

Can your husband make a fuss of the cat? Two birds, one stone?

I’m in the same boat. I used to not work. Then I went to part time. I now work five hours a day and then go to the gym or swimming ( this is for medical reasons for pain ). I’m not at home anymore. I fuss over him when I see him. But he is in less and less and next door more and more. I worry he will go.

This happened with my friends cat. Poor thing started obsessively grooming himself, he was so upset😢. He also went from sleeping in their bed to being locked downstairs.

But, It was all temporary, the baby got a bit older and the cat adjusted to the new reality. My friends mum also took pity on him, and she was visiting her very day she started setting aside some cuddle time. He is still in a bit of a huff, but much better than he was
