Kitten and cat not getting along

I kept them separated for the last 6 days, letting them smell each other's scent ect I have been slowly introducing them and my older cat hates the kitten! She hisses and is generally disgusted😂 the kitten is so playful and confinement and just wants to play with her but I'm worried she will get hurt so I'm still keeping them separated. Problem is they constantly meow at the door as if they want to be in the same room and it's driving me nuts! Any help please!

I got two kittens two years ago and had original 8 year old cat who is a diva ..it took ages for them to all get along but two years down the line they are a pack .. we have a 3 storey house and we kept them apart as much as we could and gently let them mingle . If it's just one on one I would let them just get on wit it . Cat will be boss and won't let the kitten get the upper hand . My boys ( kittens ( are much bigger than girlcat but she is in Control..
Do usual things like have feliway and cat nip to calm original cat . Good luck

If old cat hasn't actually got claws out or attacked then you've done well.

I doubt they will ever friends. They only learn to tolerate each other & this they must learn to do on their own (they need personal contact). They are still settling. Shoo them apart if they actually get claws out & chase each other with malice.

6 yrs later, My young cats still sometimes bully the old cat (who came to live with us as a rescue after the young ones). Mostly this is attn seeking crap when they are all hungry (!)

She's been growling and hissing a lot, my older cat is very gentle she's never bitten or scratched me or anyone else but I was worried for a minute she would go for the kitten, my older cat is very very needy and dependent on me- I got her when she was very young and she was the runt and she's very attached! I thought kitten might keep her company when I'm out and chill her out but I feel like I've made a mistake 😂 I guess they will have to get used to each other!
