Sticky eyes

One of our 12 week old kittens has developed a sticky eye. Some days I have to clean it a couple of times, then it can be clear for a few days before it happens again. Occasionally both eyes but usually just the one. It doesn't seen to bother her, the skin/ eyelid doesn't look red or swollen, she's not sneezing, she doesn't rub at it or anything- but I have noticed a couple of times that she'll keep that one eye shut for a few seconds. (Her brother's eyes are totally clear.) Do I need to worry? I don't want to stress her with a visit to the vets if it's likely to just be one of those things. I had cats as a child and I remember all of them had this at some point.

One of mine gets recurring conjunctivitis. A few days of chloramphenicol sorts it out.

Just out of interest, do you mind me asking roughly how much that costs you please?

It's about £7 a bottle of drops. However the vet insists on seeing her each time. So I do keep the bottles longer than you are supposed too. Tried to get it on repeat prescription. But they won't let me have it.

Oh that's a pain isn't it, £7 is much cheaper than I expected but with a consultation fee on top it's not so good!

Are they due their booster soon, the vet would charge a consultation if you are there anyway.

Yes, on Friday. The vaccinations are 'free' as we pay monthly for the health plan. I'll obviously mention it but wasn't sure if I'd then be charged a consultation fee or if they'd just check her over as we're there. They do a full check at each vaccination visit as part of he health plan anyway- weight, teeth, ears etc.
