When to say enough is enough?

Our girl is struggling, her back legs are going, and her front is compromised by a fused dislocation (before we rescued her).
She is grumpy, stroppy and we love her to bits. She has low tolerance for other cats and adults, but she has been like a Nanny Cat for our babies.
The vet really stressed that we need to consider her quality of life as she is in considerable discomfort and pain.
I know what we need to do, I'm just not ready and that's not fair on her. We we said one last weekend, but I know I'll get to Monday and put it off.
I'm not really asking anything, I'm just said that this is it, far too soon.

I’m so sorry. It’s a big decision, but you love her so you’ll make the right one.

Poor kitty.

Oh poor you, it’s such a hard decision to make. Sad but the fact that she’s in pain I think you have to try and put your own feelings aside and do what she needs to you do. I’ve had to do the same and it was awful, but it’s the kindest thing. Sitting in the sunshine in the garden with my little fluffball knowing it was her last day was heartbreaking but as owners it’s sadly part of the job. Sending you lots of love Flowers

Better a week early than a day too late. I know its hard but its the final act of kindness. Thanks

Arabella, that’s a lovely way to see it.

With my poor kitty she had lost her sight and was going into multiple organ failure.

We were due to go on holiday and I felt terrible that the decision had to be rushed, rather than have to leave her with someone else or cancel the holiday, but I’m actually glad that she didn’t have to suffer any more than she already had.

Once you know that day is imminent, there will never be a good day.
