The litter tray

Dental, remaining top tooth irritating the gum?

My cat had a dental in April. 2 weeks later he wasn’t eating much and was miserable.

The vet said his remaining top teeth are irritating the lower left where 4 teeth had been removed. He’s had nearly 4 weeks of loxicam which finished a few days ago.

Today he won’t eat but doesn’t seem unhappy and he isn’t nagging for food. He was out when I got in but was very fussy and is now asleep on my lap.

I’m worried the healthy top left teeth will have to be removed. Is this a common occurrence?. I’ve had numerous teeth removed myself for over crowding so I know gums usually toughen up quickly.

Also aldi have messed around with their cat food again and I can’t get the gravy one so he’s having jelly food which he isn’t keen on.

He normally has gourmet so maybe he’s waiting for me to do the right thing and buy gourmet?. He ate a chew stick last night with no issues.

Remind me. How old is ASBO?

9.

I think I’ve solved it. Neighbours have put up a new bird feeder on the side of their garage so he’s hiding around the corner for the ground feeding birds. He’s eaten a pouch of gourmet and is chipper.

He’s living the dream.

GrinI was going to conjecture that you were being played. (For Gourmet etc etc.) Nonetheless, in humans, removing teeth can have an 'unsettling' effect on teeth left behind. I'd keep a close eye on his mouth - in conjunction with the vet. At 9, he's potentially coming up to having the lot out in three or four years time?

Oh heavens I hope not.

Maybe he'll be fine. Maybe not. I think you just need to keep a weather eye on him.

I’m going to get him on biscuits. I just need a time I’ll be in to receive the parcel.
