The litter tray

Toxiplasmosis and pregnancy

Hi all

I have just found out that i’m pregnant. DH is taking over litter tray duty. However we drove our cat from my parents (where she has been whilst we were on holiday) to home today and she pooed on her radiator bed lining which we had put in her carrier. DH has cleaned her up and popped it in the wash at 50 degress. Is this ok? Do i now have a potentially toxi infested washing machine?! Any advice would be fantastic, thank you.

Kill temperature for toxoplasmosis is 60c so I'd run a boil wash cycle with nothing in the machine to be safe
