New kitten and diarrhoea?

Picked up our 7 week old kitten yesterday, previous owner said he'd had vet check, treated for worms and fleas.

Kitten (not yet has a name) has been acting normal but have noticed it's tummy looks big and tonight it's had the runs, is this something to worry about? I did think worms?

Has been eating and drinking fine, been drinking kitten milk which I've now changed to water in case that's why, and eating biscuits.

7 weeks is really young
Did you get details of the vet that the kitten has apparently been checked out with?
Are you feeding the same food?

TBH it sounds dodge and I would take the kitten in to your vets for a check up. Little kittens can become dehydrated v quickly.

We had this with our new kitten a couple of weeks ago. Took it to the vet who asked what worming treatment had been used by the breeder. When I said I wasn't sure, the vet said that if the breeder really had wormed, she would have written down what the kitten had been given and exactly what date. Apparently, kittens need wormed every two weeks - so even if your kitten has been wormed once, it may have picked up worms since (the vet said they can get it from the mother's milk). We took our kitten to the vet who gave us some worming medication and it sorted the diarrhea out almost immediately.

I asked my partner if he asked all those questions and he never, just surprised us with it. He had a text of previous owner saying it had vet check wormer an flea. I said what vets etc an he said he didn't know she never said what food he was having either!

I've booked an appointment for tomorrow for a health check and flea and worming treatment. I doubt it's even had either if that's the case snow girl. Once he's had those treatments tomorrow would they book us in each week or?

The vet we went to gave us the worming medication, panacur, and we had to give it to our kitten once a day for three days - so you don't have to go back to the vet every week for worming. Hope you get the diarrhea sorted out. Enjoy your kitten!

BTW if you get panacur you may need wrap kit firmly in a towel as they can be quite resistant once they realise what's coming!
