My cat has a lump on his neck

I think it's caused by his recent vaccination booster. Do I need to worry about this? I've not noticed it with any of my cats before.

When was his booster? Is it in the region of his shoulder blades?

Should go down within a few weeks if related to booster but keep a close eye as there is also a risk of injection site sarcoma which is very serious.

Mine had a little lump after his booster, but it went down in a few days.

I've taken him to the vets - it's apparently an adverse reaction to the vaccine so he's been given some anti inflammatory drugs. Poor thing was in pain and I didn't even know because he's a ragdoll and he's so passive.

Are you sure it's not his microchip? I nearly rushed ours to the vets for a lump them realised that's what it was Blush

No, I don't think so because his microchip was done before we bought him and I've never noticed anything like that before.

When Troy had a booster I wondered what the black fluff on the floor was which he was "guarding". It was his fur and there was a 50p sized bald patch at the injection site. The vet said it sometimes happens. He was fine.

Ah sorry didn't realised you'd NCd glad he's had some drugs, hopefully he'll be on the mend soon!
