how usual is this in the cat population - i mean a cat tackling bones?

Of course that size of leg bone wasn't tackled, i mean the gnawing of the meat and bits off it or raw chicken carcass?.

Normal. Mine eats raw chicken wings. Stable cat eats everything she kills. Good for their teeth

Normal. My cat can strip a leg of lamb easily.

One of ours takes great pride in stealing next door neighbours dogs bones.

I once actually caught him bouncing into the house with the bone in his mouth and the daftest most self satisfied expression on his face whilst neighbours dog could be heard going mad in their garden.

So I'd say it's quite common for cats to enjoy raw meat off the bone.

Ps I returned the bone to the poor dog and apologised profusely to the neighbours. Cat was furious at me for it tho!

haha!

aw thats cool to hear, as my cats get such pleasure from tackling bones of any sort, small and large! I find it so rewarding to see them having voracious appetite for the real stuff and like you said, yeah, so good for the teeth cleaning. surprised they are still pretty white at his age!
