Someone talk me out of this

Just found out my dads not got long and I'm pretty down. It's been a strange relationship due to a bitter divorce. I may need to go to Australia to say goodbye.

Then my friend this morning sends me this picture.

My girl is 8 months and 90% indoor and a vet pfb but she craves the company of the boys next door she's always looking for them and walks into their flat like she owns the joint. I can afford another one but mine has never jumped up the curtains, fell down the loo or ruined my furniture she's very good really. Just exhausting it's me and her.

Would I be mad? I can take two weeks off work but is she young enough to take to a kitten or should I just get the thought out of my head.

I've enclosed a photo and you don't need to see anymore of my girl!

It might be difficult if you are expecting to have to do a long haul trip soon. Do you have anyone lined up to cat sit while you are potentially away? At least it sounds as if yours likes other cats, which is a positive. Mine just chases them.

Yes the neighbour will and I have a fabulous cattery although I don't know what age they take them from. I don't know what will happen with my dad I don't know if it's too late

First off, I am very sorry to hear about your dad. i hope you get to say goodbye, even if only via Skype. Such a tough situation when you're so far away. I think two cats are better than one if they get on. We're heading into kitten season so, if this one doesn't work for you time wise, there will be lots of others looking for a lovely caring home. If your cat seems to be up for it too then why not?

Oh god the thought of saying goodbye is making me feel sick. I will need to pick up the phone in the next few days. I hope he's not in pain.

I asked her tonight if she would want a brother or sister but she's not speaking to me for some reason she just wants to spread out on the new limo.

i'm very sorry. Didn't mean to sound flippant. Having been there not that long ago, don't wait, however bad you feel. Hopefully his situation is being managed OK - do you have brothers and sisters? But if you can, would you like to go?

Well the woman never got back to me i assume theyve all gone.

When my girl was sat on my face at 530 this morning it did cross my mind that with two of them i will probably never sleep again!

The kittens are gorgeous, I am not surprised you are tempted!
I'm sure the mixed sad feelings about your dad will be affecting things at the moment - and there will be loads of rescue kittens in a few weeks if you decided a second is a good idea. I know my old lady won't cope - but when I'm down and she's being my best friend I'm so tempted!!

Mines still a kitten they say it's easier. Fancy putting it on Facebook then not getting back to anyone!

So are you getting one Grin (and posh how, as in pedigree?) It sounds like you have loads of rooney in your heart and lives for another 😻
