Calamity central here tonight... Having a soothing bath after nearly relieving myself of a fingertip. PuffinCat joined me and slipped. She looks pathetic and is not pleased with meGrin

Did you manage not to laugh?

Ours fell off the bed yesterday in a very undignified way & I had to drag him back up & promise not to tell.

Mine was sat on my lap washing her bits & slid off in a highly undignified fashion the other day. Barely a week goes by without some sort of "crash, bang, wallop" followed by gales of laughter. Gotta love the "nobody saw that, right?" look Grin

One of mine tried to jump from the floor to the window sill and missed. She tried so hard to look dignified. Ditto when she tried to step from the sofa to the footstool and got stuck as the gap was to big. Grin

My old fella does a very good job of falling off the windowsill when he forgets that is where he is, goes to wash himself and overbalances.....
Cue an undignified crash, a shake and a leap back as if nothing has happened. Grin
Disclaimer: there is a bed that he never uses under the window so he lands on that.

Ouch- naked human plus cat plus sudden fall into water in close proximity to human = bleeding human, usually.

Are you intact?

My gormless cat has fallen in the bath more times than I care to think about.
He falls down stairs on a regular basis too, and slid off the dining table earlier today when he jumped up and then saw me coming.
He burnt his nose trying to steal bacon out of the frying pan as a kitten, and dd trapped his head in the cupboard earlier, when he tried to sneak in and pinch a pompom.
He's not got a single braincell as far as I can tell.

Two minor scratches on my foot - could've been much worse. I think PuffinCat pride received the biggest blow!

Is she looking at you as if it's your fault? As a kid our cat slipped in the bath one day, the looks I got for laughing at her....

It happened to me once with Darling Twoago. 'Calamity Central' is just about right. Grin

Reminds me of one of my cats. His favourite spot was a windowsill above a radiator. There were curtains which hung a few inches below. If he got himself organised he could make a cradle for himself by trapping the bottom of the curtain under him.
Later on there would usually be a "whump" as the curtain slid out from under him and deposited him on the floor.

My kitty fell in yesterday too! She fell on top of me which gave her leverage to jump out. She then proceeded to sit with her back to me and pretend it never happened.

Our first house had a smallish bathroom with one end of the bath in a sort of recess. One morning, dh was taking a bath and I was standing at the sink, chatting to him. Our cat was carefully making his way around the edge of the bath. Not carefully enough as it turned out - suddenly he lost his footing and slipped into the bath. A huge commotion ensued, with DH desperately trying to protect his 'assets' and the cat desperately trying to get out of the water. I swear I saw the cat walk on water! Years later, in our current house, we were watching TV one afternoon when we saw a shape fall past the window. It was the cat. He'd tried walking along the window ledge and had missed his footing.
Our cat was the master of the 'nothing happened and even if it did, it wasn't me' look. Amazingly, for an accident prone puss, he lived until he was almost 20 and died a peaceful death of old age whilst sunbathing in his favourite spot in the garden. 🐱

When I was a kid, our cat jumped through an open window into the twintub washing machine. To add insult to injury (well, human injury to cat insult, I suppose actually) my parents then had to rinse the sudsy water off him.

One of my pet rats once leapt into the bath while DP was in there - she thought the suds on top were solid ground. DP lifted her out with his leg. Poor thing looked so baffled and embarrassed.

Old girl used to sit with her very fluffy tail dangling in the bath. As capillary action worked it's magic, water would eventually reach solid cat, then the frantic scramble to get away from it would start.

They do look very huffy if you dare to laugh Grin

One of mine became tangled in the handle of a large paper bag she was playing in, panicked & galloped across the kitchen with it "chasing" her, somehow managing to extricate herself by leaping vertically as she came up against the door & ran out of space, & then came the nonchalant stroll back to where she started, as if nothing had happened.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen but I wasn't allowed to laugh - oh no Grin

I cut the handles now, to prevent such embarrassments!

DCat fell off the table mid-wash yesterday and landed on the dog. Hard to say which of them was more startled.

My last cat loved taps and the bath. Would sit in the sink pawing at water dripping out the tap, and would often walk around the bath when you were in it, dipping her paw in the water (and trying to catch your toes if she was down that end). She never did fall in, thank goodness, but you could never be relaxed with her around. (My mother will never forget the time that not only did she have that to stress about, but she could see her bath towel slowly disappearing out the door as my house-rabbit pulled it! Not the quiet bath she was after!)

My current cat cannot stand water. I get lots of looks when I dare to make it rain inside her house, especially as it's often raining outside as well. Why can't I just go outside and leave her house nice and dry? And as for baths.... I don't have one often but the last time I did she stretched up to look in and there was a look of utter disdain on her face. She then walked out the bathroom and wailed. I'm pretty sure she was concerned about my stupidity and just wanted me out!
