One sided cat grooming

Hi
I have two cats, had them for about three years from kitten age, they get along great.
My boy cat groom's my girl cat every day for ages, she just sits there with a look of bliss on her face while he goes to town.
She never groom's him at all.
Not worried or anything like that just more curious if anyone else has cats that do this and is it common for one cat to be the groomer and the other doesn't?

Apparently the groomer is the more dominant one. Which is surprising, because females are usually dominant, so I'd expect your girl to be doing the grooming.

I have 2 boys, and it's the elder one who takes on washing duties. He'll put up with a couple of licks from little M, then gives him a slap.

Not too sure about it being the dominant one doing the grooming. I've seen Boycat groom Girlcat but never the other way round, and though he's a fair bit bigger than her she's definitely the boss (possibly because he's thick as shit).

Same here, boy cat much bigger but girl cat is the boss without a doubt.
She eats first and boy cat has to sit an wait or she beats him. Poor fella.
Maybe he is just her slave

Oh my Boycat TRIES to use his extra weight to push Girlcat out of the way, but she just gives him a swipe & he retires until she's done. Grin

I could watch them for hours I find it so fascinating. Throw a few fluffy mouse toys in and I don't need a TV
