Cat returned after 2 weeks but now we're having insurance issues

Can anyone advise me on the situation with my cat?

Lovely sod that he is went wandering off and hasn't been home for 2 weeks. This morning he's finally returned which is fantastic - lots of happy tears all round even though he's looking a bit worse for wear.

However, before we took out our insurance policy he'd been hit by a car. When we took it out they told us that the policy would exclude that injury which is fine (although cost us the best part of £3k) but now they're saying they never received the documents from the vets.

Is this going to invalidate our insurance for what looks like his new injuries? I'm really worried because we're still paying off the last set of vet bills!

The vet will be able to say what they believe caused any injuries. Explain to them you aren't covered for the previous injuries from car and they can complete their part of the form accordingly.
Hope that makes sense and hope your cat is ok.

Thank you Vino - I'm really worried that the 2 weeks have made the old injury worse but I'm putting my faith in the vets being nicer to me than to the insurance company!

When Harry broke his jaw there was a strong possibility the insurance wouldn't pay out as he also had dental issues. Our vet wrote a covering letter to go with the claim (I didn't see it as the claim was handled by the practice) and it was paid in full, less excesses.

I hope your boy is OK and the claim is sorted.

Hopefully your vet kept records of the documents they sent to your insurers?
