advice on new kitten.

Could I have some advice from you experts please?
I have a beautiful 12 week old kitten, very sociable and happy little chap, but will use the litter tray sometimes but more often than not I'm picking up poo and wiping up his wee. I have moved the litter tray to the area he uses most, that didn't work so bought another tray so he has two to choose from.
I have bought Get off spray which apparently helps, I use kitchen towel to soak up the wee then use a Detol antibacterial wipe then Zoflora.
It's really getting me down now. Is this a habit that is lightly to last?
