Am I being paranoid? Lost cat at weekend to RTA after he had been missing for 6 months! (vet scanned him). Lost previous cat to cancer. I'm overly protective of my new cat who I've had for 3 months.

Neighbour gone over the top with grit on road outside my house. (we only have a frost).

Cat is being kept in, he's going crazy! Google says salt in grit is dangerous for pets. Need to wash paws. Difficult to control coming and going through cat flap.

I've not worried before about previous cats going out when grit is on the road but this is a lot of grit! Will try and sweep some up later. Am I being overly cautious?

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I've never come across any problems caused by grit. I would try not to worry about it.
