Odd behaviour from my lovely mog - is it because I'm expecting?

He can't get close enough to me at night. He's usually down by my feet on the bed but the last week or so he's been up by our shoulders in between me and dp, even got under the covers at one point. He's very clingy and purry which is lovely (but obviously it makes sleeping even harder!)

Is it because I have a baby bump or could it be something else? I don't remember this happening last pregnancy and dcat's brother is unmoved.

Yeah I defo think so, Cats are so clever and clued on animals. She is trying to get all your attention as she can sense the change in your body. Are you Home with her all day or away at work?

I work and also have a toddler so my time for the cats is limited during the day. Has been for some time though and this is definitely new behaviour.

It could well be. They can often tell that things might be 'happening'.

I think they sense something. You're lucky! My cat was the opposite when I was expecting DS1 - he suddenly couldn't stand me! He'd sit between DP and I on the sofa and if DP stroked him he'd purr happily but if my hand went anywhere near him, he'd go for it, teeth and claws - every time.

My dm's cat won't leave me alone when I go over there at the moment and was the same when I was expecting dd.

As soon as fidget arrives we won't see him for dust when we go over.

Its hard for you I know what do you do? Give it time I guess let her do what she wants dont give her any attention at night when you are woken up by her in bed (good or bad)

Thanks Cozie I'm not due till early April so got a way to go (but baby is very active and I am the size of a house already!)

Holly there is no way I can not give him attention when he's right next to me, can never resist a plush purry kitty, even if it's to the detriment of my sleep actually think I'm getting used to it now so doesn't always wake me up.

I hope your kitty forgave you eventually Arti!

Huffle he avoided my ds for a long time after he was born but is now very patient with a boisterous toddler. As is his brother, although he took longer to come round. I have lovely cats, I'm very lucky.

I did a lot of resting lying on the settee when I was pg with DS2 and my girl cat used to curl up on my bump. She would start purring and DS would kick which used to make her move around
