I always knew it would be bad when he left us because he was such a special loving pussycat, especially since we lost our other 18yr old fur baby 2 years ago.
He ate when we ate, slept on our bed, spent each evening curled up on my lap intermittently sitting up and tapping me with his paw when he wanted a stroke or 10 and talked to us all the time.
DH is just as sad as I am and it feels like my heart is breaking. We know there was no choice and we did the right thing for him but he was so glad to see us at the vet yesterday - tried to get up when he heard our voices but was too week. Still managed to purr when we stroked him bless his heart. Hubby and son are going to bury him in his favourite spot in the garden today I just feel so bereft Sad Sad.

I'm so sorry. I cried for a week when Darling Twoago died.

They live in your heart, don't they?

I am so sorry, it is really hard particularly if other stuff is going on and of course Christmas when there is pressure to feel happy. I too was terribly upset when my 2 elderly cats died, the 2nd one in particular was very affectionate & trusting, and his last illness was very emotionally draining. All I can say is that it does become less acutely upsetting with time.

That's to be expected. Cats are part of your family. If you need to cry then cry and it does get easier in time even though you're missing them so much.
I found some photos of our old cat when I was supposed to be sorting stuff out the other day and ended up crying over them-it's nearly 9 years since we lost him and I haven't cried about him for a long time.
Your cat was obviously a happy well loved fella.

Bless you, such a difficult time.
He sounds like a lovely cat, I love cats who demand to be stroked.
He was obviously adored by you and must have had a brilliant life.

I'm so sorry for you. It's difficult at any time of year, but especially hard right now. He sounds awesome and you obviously gave him a long and happy life, to the very end.
People without pets don't understand. Those of us with extend you every sympathy because we know how difficult it is, and that sooner or later we'll have to go through it too.

I'm so sorry. One of mine was killed by a dog on Thursday and today is the first day I feel like I can breathe.

It WILL get easier and you will remember all the wonderful times and the joy and love you had. But it is so hard and I am so sorry Flowers

I'm so sorry. My 13 year old fur baby was PTS this morning and while I knew he was very sick and that every day we had him was a bonus, it's still heartbreaking. The time of year makes it feel even more cruel.
I don't know if you've considered talking to anyone but the Blue Cross were great when my last cat was hit by a car. You can email or phone and it does seem to help.

Flowers so sorry for your loss. They are so valiant and innocent. Be comforted that he was not afraid.

So sorry for your loss, and for Heyheyhey and fairyjasmine :(

It's 18 months since I lost the love of my life and I still tear up at the thought of him, let alone his photo, I miss him so very much. The price we pay for giving our hearts to the furry ones ...

I'm so sorry to hear about your fur baby. We lost one of our elderly furries tragically in the summer. It will get easier as you focus on the lovely memories. Flowers to you. Xxxx

So sorry to hear about your dear cat. It's so hard to lose them. My boy died suddenly some years back and I still miss him.
