Killercat has been fighting. On Thursday night he came in with a huge swelling on his back. Took him to the vet on Friday who opened the wound and released most of the gunk. He gave him a painkiller injection and an antibiotic injection. Then gave us a five day course of tablets for him, 1 and 1/2 tablets twice a day.
We managed both doses yesterday but it was a battle, he screeched, spat the fucking tablets out several times and managed to free up one paw from the towel and swipe both me and dp.
Today he has sat on the shed roof all day refusing to come down. We eventually managed to tempt him in the house by using dd and ham. He's not worried about dd. Then we tried to clean his wound, which is still full of gunk but couldn't get it to open up and then gave him his tablets. There is much blood (mine), shouting and screeching but finally got him to swallow them.
I'm not sure we can do this again today. The cat hates us. He won't come in. I'm starting to hate dp who shouted at me for not holding the cat properly and then for not putting my fingers in the cats mouth to push the tablets in.
Cat is 14 and needs to stop fighting. Both other cats and us. Wibu to stop with the tablets and take him back to the vets on Tuesday for another injection?
