How protected are my boys?

We've just recently adopted an elderly neighbours cat. Within days we noticed noticed he had fleas. I have washed all bedding (cats and ours), hoovered like a mad woman, sprayed with Flea Spray, given the cat treatment...but, we already have two other cats.
Our two are up to date with their flea treatments, they get it once a month, but will this really protect them from the fleas? What else can I do to protect my two boys and what else can I do to help the new cat? Do they need extra brushing or combing or extra treatments? How will I know when the fleas have gone?
I'm still hoovering the house but keep spotting the odd flea here and there despite spraying with the flea stuff.

I was speaking to a pest control guy today. He said fleas won't feed off a cat that has been treated. They will feed from people but they won't reproduce they need an animal to be able to reproduce. He was in checking my place for bedbugs. I don't have bedbugs so he was suggesting a flea may have bitten me. There is no sign of fleas either. Are they easy to see? I hope you get it sorted soon.

Thanks Twinkcat. It's reassuring to know that our 2 should be ok.
I spotted a flea on my bed after I had sprayed round, it wasn't moving fast so perhaps the spray worked, another landed on my ipad so was very easy to see on the screen. Bizarrely, none of us have been bitten.

Do I need to spray round again and if so, how soon?

I haven't sprayed anything. I got some bites on my leg. I got pest control out because my neighbour had a bedbug infestation at the end of last year and I was worried maybe I had them now. I don't see any sign of fleas. The pest control guy said if I only have one or two fleas they will eventually die so he said he recommended I do nothing. Many people on here have been through this so hopefully someone will come along with some good advice. It is good you haven't been bitten.

Argh, just spotted a live one and a dead one.
Our original boys seem free from fleas...the adopted boy, I can't tell. he's go the 'behind the neck' treatment on so I'm guessing that will kick in.

Oh no, I would find it really difficult to deal with. I am really scared of all insects. I hope you don't find any more today
