I posted a couple of days ago about whether to risk a cattery with aged cat. A sad solution has presented itself. I came home from work today to find one of her back legs has stopped working. I know that's a sign that kidney failure is imminent so I am taking her tomorrow lunchtime to be pts. V sad. Happy about the lovely fun life she has had. It's just rubbish all around. DC is doing Ok with it so far. Tears of course. Hard to be sensible grownup.

That's very sad. Our lovely yorkshire terrier has kidney disease and although, so far, is responding to treatment and still has a reasonable quality of life, I know it's not for long. I really feel for you and your family - we're all going to be in bits when we have to make the tough decision.

Sending very warm thoughts to you.

So sorry that you are faced with this very sad situation. Sad I have had to face it myself on too many occasions, but as I'm sure you know, better this than suffering. Glad you have had some great times with aged cat, and that she has obviously lived a life full of joy and love. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

It's horrid being the grown up isn't it. Have you got someone to drive you home?.

It's still better than her suffering though.

I'll be thinking of you.

Thank you for your warm words. Taxi there. Walk back. May buy a large bar of chocolate to keep the dementors at bay. Being a grown up really is rubbish.

Have you got some nice treats for her tonight? I dread it & mines only 6.

I feel for you, I don't know how I'd cope.

Have lots of cuddles with her tonight. Flowers for you and puss.

The cat has had her tea upstairs and is currently curled up enjoying our electric blanket. Dc is up and down. I let best friend's Mum know. School drop off will be tough tomorrow.

Maybe a good idea to warn her class teacher as well?

So sorry for you - but it's a darned sight better than leaving her to get on with bad problems.

Being a grown up sucks doesn't it?
