Hello, I have just taken over the care of my son's one-year old male cat. He lives with his girlfriend and they have to move and are unable to take the cat. He has always been an indoor cat and I have the time to devote to him through the week. However I am not around at weekends from about Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon. My son has offered to come in to feed the cat and change his litter tray but is this too long for him to be left? I feel so guilty about it but thought it would be better for me to take him rather than go to a pet shelter and perhaps not be rehomed - he is only an ordinary moggy but I think he is beautiful. Thanks all - I really don't want to be cruel to him.
