The litter tray

Trying to stay positive

My DH and DS2 found our little white tortoise cat a couple of doors away in a neighbours garden after work last night. They heard her miaowing loudly but she wasn't able to move. Very quickly they worked out that she'd been hit by a car and the issue was in her rear end. I was away with work and they couldn't get hold of me (I think that was actually a good thing as I would have been so worried and hours away). They took her to the vet whose early assessment thinks that she's fractured her pelvis and dislocated a leg. We don't know yet if there's any spinal damage. We think she might have been there for a while as she didn't come in for breakfast yesterday morning which was unusual.

We're all very worried about our sweet, timid cat who is scared of her own shadow.

Sharing for healing vibes from MNetters!

Thinking positive wasn't enoughHmm we had to make the heart-wrenching decision to put her to sleep. Sad times.

:( sorry for your loss. Thanks

She won't forget you and she's pain free now. Well done for being able to make the decision to put her to sleep. Sweet dreams precious kitty.

Wine Cake for you.

Please take comfort in the loving home you gave her

So sorry Thanks

It's not much comfort but at least she was found by your DH & DS who were able to love her and care for her & get her to the vet as soon as possible. Even thought the outcome was a sad one (but you made a brave decision for her).

Thank you.

We couldn't put her through the potential of more ops with the very strong possibility that she still wouldn't have full mobility, if any. For a cat that's not quality of life.

Yes, to be found was lucky. She was made comfortable from that point.

On the upside we still have her sister who is also a white tortie who is in receipt of an awful lot of love and attention from the whole family! Grin
