The litter tray

Little rescue kitties coming home but what a quandary!

A very short while ago, you were all so lovely about the loss of my lovely batcat zeb, who left a huge hole as this time last year the house was filled with 3 oldies who gave us so much love.

House just awful, feels like its waiting. We have room, and love to give so tonight went over to one of the vet recommended cat rescues to see which furries wanted us. I always said they would pick us but Blimey, I didn't expect it to be so full on!

So little Storm (gorgeous tabby) and Shadow (black) who are just so affectionate and playful will be coming home next week after their little ops. Storm was "oh, you'll be mine then" the minute we walked in, Shadow hid, but when I went to talk to him he ran over and gave me a massive love. smitten! Just under a year old, lovely age.

The only thing is there was another little girlie who was straight to me, ignored DP and DSC totally, and I can't get her out of my head. Purred for britain, head bumps, face loves, the lot. The lady said if we wanted all 3 she would put them together to see if they got on and if yes, away we go.

but 3 when DP is allergic? We did have 3 before, but .... He has said get her because he saw how much we took to each other but he would only be doing it for me, and 3 is a lot. But she was lovely, she grabbed my heart exactly as the other 2 did. The others we saw were lovely but not our cats. Weird, but the others weren't, these just obviously were in 3 seconds!

DSC also want her because of how she responded to me!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the rescue to pop them in together, see how they get on, then decide!

Well he won't be more allergic to three than two. I am allergic to cats. I have two long haired Maine Coons ATM, have had three in the past and would have more. I get more out of having them than of not having them and not wheezing. Go for it. I am hoping to have two more, but our boy is aggressive and I don't want him to eat a new kitten.

I'd feel really mean doing that then saying no .......if they got on I'd be hiding her in the conservatory and doing the ..... What? This old thing? Had it years darling .....Grin

As the others have said, 3 shouldn't cause any more trouble allergy wise than 2. And 3 aren't really any more trouble to look after than 2. And 3 cats aren't really a lot at all! And you'll always be thinking about her if you don't take her. If they get on then do it!

Please bring them all back! What a happy ending it would be. I am allergic but my reaction gets less severe as I get used to the animal. I have 3 and I am used to them all. However, you have to expose yourself to them (think rubbing them on your face sort of exposure!) Sporadic contact won't do it properly. A different cat can often set me off but it doesn't take long to acclimatise to new fur Grin

Get her, as long as she gets on with the other two.

Dh is still talking about the cat at the cat show who put his paw through the cage to touch his hand. That was 12 months ago and if the breeder rang tomorrow with a price they'd have a sale!

My mum still bears a grudge about the kitten dad wouldn't let us have 27 years ago. He rang two days after seeing her to reserve and someone else had got in first.

DP has just confessed he doesn't want to make the decision, when I pointed out the inevitable consequences he said he didn't mind, so guess who's going to be making a phone call later.

Ooh ooh ooh ooh! Fingers crossed they get on.

I feel a spending spree coming on!

Sorry, update!

It's good to go for all 3. We are about to be invaded by 3 7 month old kitties. It's going to be absolute chaos. Cant wait! Wonder which one will be the mummy's boy/girl?

How exciting!

You can go onto your profile (click on MyMumsnet on the link at the top) and post photos there. They come out really small though. I opened an account with Snapfish and you can upload them to there and then post a link. I think there are better sites though - I'm sure others will advise.

Anyway it's great news that you're getting all three. So they seem to like each other then?
