The litter tray

why did my cat just pee on the floor in the corner?

He has never done this before. Is it because he doesn't want to go out in the snow?

Uti? Behavioural? Is he castrated?
Urinary problems, could be linked to crystals - quite common in male cats.
Does he have a litter tray? Has he been behaving differently at all recently or any other cats in the area? Any stresses? Could be to cold outside for him. But definitely worth monitoring.
Was it a normal wee? Was he straining at all?

he has been neautered. he was sneezing a bit today too. the pee was normal it's just that he did it inside instead of out.

thanks to both of you for your help by the way. Do I need to take him to the vet tomorrow? he is 2 andhas never been ill before and i've never had a cat before so am not entirely sure what to do

I have to say not going out on the snow would be quite likely if you had witnessed the fuss the posh arrogant boy had made over the last 24hours.

I'd put a tray out for him given the weather. If he's not wanting to go outside due to the weather or even a little off-colour for some reason, it's a good idea.

PS - remember to clean the spot in the corner really thoroughly. They've got a great sense of smell and you'll want to get his mind off that spot and on to the tray location.

Hi how is he today? if he seems well then get him a litter tray for use in the cold and snowy weather - a lot of cats hate cold and wet paws.
If he continues to inappropriately urinate or sneeze I'd get him checked over.

thanks everyone, it hasn't happened again. i have put him out 3 times today though.

he stayed out for a couple of minutes each time and then came back in. i think it's just the cold he doesn't like.

my 2 have access to a litter tray all the time - i dont want complaints from neighbours about cats peeing (or worse) in their borders.

mine havent set foot outside in this cold snap. i would give him a litter tray during the snow.
