Can anyone recommend a website to sell my cats?

My DD (7mo) has developed a minor allergy to our 2 cats, so need to get rid of the cats I've put them on the local facebook selling pages, can anyone recommend a website, i feel mean keeping the cats confined to certain areas to keep them away from DD so want to sell them asap

If they're any particular breed, you can frequently find an 'owners wishing to rehome' section on the breed rescue websites. On actually 'selling' them - you may need to rethink that one. There are so many cats looking for homes at the moment that the ordinary rescues are groaning.

Thanks, One is a breed the other is not and don't really want to separate them but beginning to think i might have to.

Not necessarily. If they're good friends you could always email the rescue contact for the particular breed and explain the situation. I've seen mixed pairs on breed rescue sites before now. Not often - but I have seen them.

I found mine on Preloved. Horrible name! He was about to be given to the rspca for the same reason as you so when I saw him I went and picked him up. Also often see adult cats on Gumtree. I personally wouldn't look to make money from them but I don't think it hurts to advertise them with a price to be sure that the buyer is serious about taking them on

A minor allergy? Do you really need to get rid? My DD is allergic to cats and horses but we never got rid.

I'm allergic to cats, have been all my life, and have never had fewer than two cats.

It rarely bothers me, unless they get literally under my nose.

Are you sure it's the cats as well? Have you had allergy tests done? It is just as likely to be housedust mite allergy.

I doubt anyone would want to rehome your house dust mites though ;)

Yeah, we've had allergy tests done and if it was myself then i would keep them but DD has underlying health issues so want to get re-home them before she gets any worse. I've just put them on preloved and gumtree.

Personally, I wouldnt advertise on preloved or gumtree in case the dog fighting people get hold of them.

Am I wrong in thinking that's where they get them from? I'd go on pets4homes, we got our cat off there.

Or as others have said the breed societys re-homing pages.

Do you actually need to sell them. I think you will have more luck finding them a decent home without selling them.

Please get in touch with Cats Protection League. They are experienced at finding the right home and will provide back up if needed or take the cars back if the new owner can't keep them.

If you try and sell or home them yourself you risk them getting into the wrong hands and used as bait to train fighting dogs or being passed from pillar to post.

Couldn't agree more Knickers, the wording is only slightly different but the inference is vastly different.

Please re-home them, seek out a rescue but never 'get rid' and 'sel'l a cat/s.

Be wary of giving them away, the horrible baiting people will jump at the chance of having them also been known for reptile enthusiasts to take free pets usually small furries but cats too, to feed their beloved 10ft pythons.
Even if you don't want to make money from rehoming them maybe ask for a minimum donation to a cat/animal charity local to you, this will put those people off from the word go, and look out for people asking to rehome cats there is one on one of my local group at the moment asking to rehome two preferably mature cats at least you know these people aren't contacting you on a whim kind of thing iykwim x

Another one for the Cats Protection League. I rehomed two cats from a home a few years ago through them - one was a mog, the other a british shorthair. Just out of curiosity what type is the pedigree one?
