Cat has white flecks in her maulted fur. Fleas or something else?

Just brushed my cat after feeling some weird lumps in her fur (lumps of fur, not anything sinister) and out with it all came loads and loads of white flecks of dry skin - like a dry scalp, I guess.

It's not itchy or bothering her. She is an indoor cat on a diet atm because she got a bit porky!

Any ideas how to help get rid of it?

Capsule of cod liver oil in her food maybe. Sounds like her skin's a bit dry.
