Poo watch

My gorgeous boy got castrated 9 days ago and had problems going for a poo, obviously painful as lots of squealing (image you trapped the tail car door - that level of noise!). He is a major wuss pain wise but we got him a stool softener from the vet to help get everything moving.

Which has worked (possibility a little too well!) but he is now not going in the garden. He will go for a poo on walks or the upstairs landing. This is a new thing as previously toilet trained ok. Wees are still ok in the garden no problem.

So today I am on poo watch, keeping him in the garden/ kitchen, keeping a very close eye on him ready for lots and lots of praise and positive reinforcement when he does go. Nothing so far so will just keep waiting. Which is becoming really boring! Can’t take him for a walk as he will happily poo then.

At least I have mumsnet to read!

Still waiting! Lots of walking around the garden (which is small) and throwing the ball but nothing. Going to be a long day.

Argggh. I am so bored. The weather is fine and a walk would be lovely. But that won’t solve the problem.

A day just chilling in the kitchen with the dog sounded great but there is only so much tea you can drink!

Husband think I should just take him on a walk, but I don’t think that will solve the current problem. We can’t keep in confined to the kitchen forever, especially if everyone is else where in the house.

Anyone had similar or any advice?

Why can’t you take him for a walk?

He is quiet happy to poo on a walk, but if he needs a poo at home he has started (just the last week) to run upstairs and poo on the upstairs landing. I am trying to get him to poo in the garden so I can then praise and reward so he stops doing this.
