Sick puppy

14 weeks old puppy is vomiting and has some loose stools too. She was wormed at the vets this morning. (Panacur)
I have spoken to the vet and they said if she’s still being sick in an hour, call back. It’s been 45 minutes (she was sick through all of this time every few minutes) but has just dozed off in her crate. She looks so sorry for herself.
They advised a bland diet of scrambled egg or chicken with plain rice which I have on hand.
I just don’t know what to do next. If she wakes and is sick again I assume I call as it’s been more than an hour? Should I update the vet now? When should I offer food? Her next meal would have been about 5:30.

She’s my first dog and I feel totally out of my depth her and reading so much conflicting advice.

If you are still worried phone them back. With young puppies they can quickly get dehydrated with vomiting.

You can always ask for them to check her over just in case. Sometimes we have gone with ours and it's been nothing but other times he needed treatment.

Ok vet advice is to go back if she’s sick in an hour
So as it hasn’t been an hour and she had stopped being sick
I’d say she’s fine for now and I’d wait it out

Try to encourage water when she’s awake again so she doesn’t get dehydrated
And give some plain food.
To be honest if our puppy is a bit under the weather we go for kibble instead of wet food. But maybe follow your vets advice

I wouldn’t bother updating the vet just now.

I think it depends how bad you think it is, if she has a good nap and wakes up and vomits, I would probably wait still personally
But then if she vomited again I would call back

If it was my puppy I’d be giving kibble only - after stomach settles
Water
Maybe some chews to keep her occupied
And lots of snuggles and encourage as much sleep as possible and I’d wait it out and see how she goes.

But only you’re there and know how out of character puppy is, how dramatically things are coming out of each end!

Has she be wormed before? Any sort of reaction then?

Thank you both. She was wormed before at 10 weeks with exactly the same wormer (pancur) and was absolutely fine.

I’ll give her an hour and see if she’s up and ready to drink. That will still give me time to get her to the vet before they close.

I have plenty of her regular kibble and she’s had rice before in her kong so I could do a small meal of both mixed a little later and see how she goes.

She just looks so sad 😞

She woke up after about 30 minutes and wouldn’t drink any thing so I let her lick my wet hand a few times and she started to perk up. I offered a tiny meal of plain rice which she hoovered and was snuffling for more. After 20 minutes she was definitely hungry so gave her a little scrambled egg with more rice and she’s eaten that and had a good drink. Currently dozing but looking less sad. I’m frazzled 🤪

Brilliant
Hope she’s still doing well! She’s obviously still got an appetite!
