Feeding once a day

Is it ok to do this?

Ddog is coming up for 18 months old. He has always been very enthusiastic about his breakfast but this past week just isn't interested.
His evening meal we scatter feed and he still seems to be enjoying that, especially as he is extra hungry after daycare! In the morning we feed from the bowl purely for convenience.
Is it ok to give him all his allowance in one evening meal or are there disadvantages to this?

Is his breakfast after a walk?

We just do one large evening meal - I used to do lunch and dinner but lunch was three quarters of the time completely ignored!

We don't walk first thing in the morning, just let him out for a wee. He is usually up at 6.30, breakfast at 7, leave the house at 7.20, starts daycare at 7.30

Mine isn't keen on breakfast but we do give him a small amount of his daily meal with cooked chicken on top to encourage him to eat a bit of it.

I wouldn't be so bothered about him leaving breakfast but he goes to daycare and I feel it's too full on to go on an empty stomach.

If you have a dog of a breed that is prone to getting bloat then it isn't the best idea to feed all the day's allowance at once. So ddog is on 2 meals a day here. Even if bloat isn't an issue, I'd probably offer a little something first thing in order to fuel the energy for daycare!

My boy normally gets a snack first thing and his proper dinner in the evening. As he has lost a bit of weight due to a D&V bug he is currently getting a proper breakfast and is very happy!

I have two dogs and they get breakfast at about 7am, then they go out for their run and they have tea at around 4-6pm Smile this seems to suit them and they are a healthy weight! However my parents dog only ate (he's passed away now) once a day at about 3pm and he was always perfectly healthy! I think it depends on the dog

We only feed once a day too - normally around 7pm. He's just not interested in breakfast!

He has a chew after his morning walk and normally another around 3pm but he turns down a full meal. He gets a few treats on his walks but that's about it.

Yes I like him to have something before daycare.
He wolfed all his dinner down tonight so was obviously hungry.
Have realised I've been over feeding as food should have been cut down at 15 months so that may be contributing to not feeling hungry enough.
Think I'm going to try a few more days to coax him on the smaller amount.
Thanks all
