My lovely goldie has started pooping in the house. I made the mistake of changing her food last week (all they had in the pet shop) but it was the same brand so I thought we would be safe. Unfortunately not, and she started pooping in the house during the day and at night (runny). This has happened in the past and it’s usually linked to a change of food or when we were renovating. It normally clears up in a couple of days. But not this time, her poops are mostly back to normal but she’s still pooping at night.
She’s 3 years old and I scrub the carpet and use the enzyme spray.
My questions are:
- Should I go back to the old foo? We normally get the Lab or Goldie stuff but the pet shop only had ‘large breed’ stuff. I wouldn’t might switching back but she seems to love the new stuff – wolves it down. She normally just picks at her food during the day.
- I’m tempted to lock her into the kitchen tonight but I know she’d bark the house down. Should I try that anyway? She has the run of the house day and night. I’m worried she might get stressed but maybe I’m pampering her?
