Why is my bitch humping?

Sorry, that probably SUVs Lee a had rap song, but anyway....She's 9 months. Could it be her first season? She's just started doing it in the past week or so to cushions or my arm (she's a small dog).

My bitch still does this, she is 3 1/2 years old. She mostly targets my toddler to hump, no idea why she is preferable but there you go. She also likes humping Baby Annabell (the doll) 🤷‍♀️

It's not always when she's in season either. No idea.

Mine started at 8 months and it never went away. Now 20 months and spayed but still continues to have an very enthusiastic and exclusive relationship with my left leg.

Detach dog, turn away and ignore if you can before it becomes an ingrained habit.

Mine was terrible for this when coming into/on heat. She had a large pale covered soft toy which she loved and I took it away because she not only did that almost continually to it, she was very messy when on heat, and the toy was covered in blood. God, it looked so disgusting. She has been spayed now, and only humps her drying towel for some bizarre reason, but nothing else.
Basically just rampant hormones!

Oh bless those funny dogs! Well, she started bleeding yesterday so it is her first season. Question: can I still walk her? Or garden is small. Obviously won't let her off lead which she's going to hate, poor baby. I feel quite emotional. Dd is 10 so it's good practise!

Personally I would not walk her.
Some male dogs can be so persistent that a lead actually doesn’t actually offer much protection and your female could be very stressed at trying to fend them off

She is very small so I can result pick her up. So far not met one dog who even wanted to play.

Some males will jump at your arms, run across roads, get aggressive if you try to stop them...

Also, some females react badly to bitches in heat and vice versa, some otherwise friendly bitches become really unpleasant in heat.

It’s not worth it.

It’s dangerous for the male aswell if they get lost, hit by a car etc.

The reason why you haven’t encountered any problems is probably because most males are neutered which in itself can cause problems with fear aggression and things.

Your dog won’t die from not getting a walk for a few weeks.

I know she won't die, but she'll be unhappy, bless her. She goes mopey if she only goes out once a day. I won't die if I don't eat for a week but I won't be very happy.

She had a lovely time with friend's female pup today and we went on a really long walk without seeing any other dogs. I'd rather risk it than not let her walk for days on end. Our garden is very small and not very interesting, but I'll play it by ear. If it gets difficult I'll stop but so far nothing.
