Dog not eating breakfast

My terrier mix dog usually has breakfast and dinner. The last few days he’s just left his breakfast uneaten. He then comes to me at his dinner time (3pm) bothering for his dinner which he wolfs down.

He’s 7 years old, enjoying his walks/ball game. No problems with wee or poo.

Do dogs appetite decrease as they get older?

My 10 year old Yorkie has started doing this. He's been very "off" since we lost our Lab last month so I've put it down to that. He's only 4kg so can't afford to lose much weight. I've been leaving his dry kibble down all day now the Lab isn't there to hoover up his leftovers so he can graze , then he has a wet pouch mixed with more kibble at dinner time which he scoffs. Are you able to leave food down all day for him?

I left his breakfast all day. It was down when he came to me to get his dinner. I threw away his breakfast, washed his bowl and gave him fresh food for his dinner which he wolfed down. The food was the same (forthglade wet).

Mine often isn't hungry in the mornings until he's had a walk and a poo! What time are you feeding him?

Feeding him after me his walk and after he’s had a poo.

Maybe try and give him some more variety in his diet? As in, not just the same brand and flavour all the time. Mine loves things mixed with his kibble - vegetables, a raw egg, chicken, tuna, doggy gravy - it changes the texture/flavour and makes it more interesting for him. I also find heating it up for a little while in the microwave helps too.
